Welcome... to a beginning

R35 GT-R laps the Top Gear test track in…

07/20/2008
An incredibly short amount of time. Stupidly fast.
A torrent of the entire show is available at the BBC-approved finalgear.com, but a Youtube clip of the GT-R's segment is right here:

0-60 MotoRex article uploaded.

This will subject me to a world of shit from the GT-R guys I'm sure, but I felt that the rest of the world should be able to access and read this article. It contains good, important information that GT-R fanatics worldwide who can't buy the magazine shouldn't have to wait 3 months to read (I was initially going to wait until the current issue of 0-60 was off newsstands, which would have been fine for a 1 month rag, but for a quarterly publication, it's a bit much to ask.)

I really want to stress how important it is to support good automotive journalism in an era of Primedia dominated car 'zines (as evidenced by this excellent article) so please check out 0-60 Magazine and pick up a copy of this Summer '08 issue- or subscribe online.

Anyways, the full article's scans (and a plain-text version too) are available HERE: HeadlineThumbnail.jpg

Slurpees and MotoRex

07/11/2008
Today is 7-11-08, which means Free Slurpee day at 7-11's across America- so stop by and pick up one 7.11oz Slurpee of any flavor (try the new Monster one, it's pretty good.) While you are there, if you are lucky, pick up a copy of 0-60 Magazine, whose Summer '08 issue has an in-depth insider's look at the rise and fall of MotoRex. The magazine is only carried at some 7-11's, Barnes and Noble's, and other newsstands. I am considering posting the article, so that those who cannot obtain the magazine can still learn what the article has to say, but I don't want to offend those involved, or detract from magazine sales.

Check back later tonight.

Mission Statement

Quite simply, the goal of this wiki is to become the ultimate English-language based knowledge source relating to the R32, R33, and R34 Nissan Skyline GT-R, and the engine at its heart: the RB26. We will separate truth from fable, provide information for the avid fan, and become an indispensable resource for any GT-R owner.

There is already a great deal of information available online about these cars, but it's scattered across a half-dozen internet forums (who are filled with self-proclaimed experts, making it tough to separate fact from bullshit) and a few websites run by devoted gurus. This wiki will provide a platform to consolidate this info and add new chapters.

We invite anybody with knowledge to add their proven facts and personal opinions to any topic, as long as they are careful to distinguish between the two. Proven facts and solid information are necessary components of any site whose aim is to become an authoritative guide, but the opinions of experts with years of experience are what will ultimately guide the parts selection and build progression of most mild to medium builds. We will build a large database of knowledge, and will not hesitate to selectively lock topics and certain pages to ensuring that our information is extremely accurate.
